In 1969 a group of Christians in Sydney who were eager to present a Christian witness in motor sport founded the Christian Autosports Club of Australia.
CACA are a CAMS (Confederation of Australian Motor Sport) affiliated club, and are actively involved in a diverse range of motor sport activities.
Originally, CACA’s competitive involvement was in rallying, motorkhanas and lap dashes. These were at regional, state, national and international levels. This has expanded over the years into many diverse areas of motor sport. A number of current and past members have become champions within their categories. The club was also actively involved in motor sport administration, organisation and publicity and that continues to this day.
CACA organises a range of competition and social activities for the benefit of its members and friends from other motoring organisations. Many activities are designed to develop member’s mechanical knowledge and driving skills. Some of our best social times occur while engaged as officials in motor sports events. This might include standing in a forest in the middle of the night waiting for a car to come through our rally control!
The club also encourages members to become involved in motor sport administration and to act as officials in motor sport.
CACA was a pioneer in creating motor sport events for juniors from the age of 12. We have a heavy focus on the younger members of the club, seeking to provide them with motoring skills long before they can learn to use public roads. This brings a fantastic family atmosphere to the club events. As a result the club has numerous second -generation family members and it has grown to become one of the largest motor sport clubs in New South Wales.
The club has bi-monthly meetings to facilitate the running of the club as well as organising and preparing for future events. These meetings provide a great opportunity to catch up with other members and enjoy the fellowship this brings.
